Weekly update October
Weekly Update: 10/2-10/07
Please remember to wash and dry your uniforms this week. They should be cleaned by Friday’s game.
Concert Instruments will be used in Class Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays- Marching Instruments will be used on Wednesdays and Fridays moving forward.
Monday- Bring Concert Instruments to class.
Tuesday- Marching Band Rehearsal 4:00pm-7:00pm.
Wednesday- Mr. Peters Out- Individual Practice on EITHER Concert or Marching. Jazz Band- Individual Practice on Jazz Chair Auditions
Thursday- Marching Band Rehearsal 4:00pm-7:00pm
Friday- Away Game vs. Nease.
Saturday- Tocoi Creek Marching Competition- See Itinerary Linked Below. Students will meet at Tocoi at 3:00pm- dressed in Marching Uniforms.
Next Week:
Tuesday- NO Marching Rehearsal
Tuesday- PTO Power of an Hour Fundraiser at Colonial Oaks Music Park- parents are encouraged to attend as we have a Project Request we are hoping to have funded. Cost is $20 and you get to vote on the projects that are presented. The project with the most votes will receive all of the proceeds from the event.
Thursday- Marching Rehearsal
Friday- NO GAME- We will have Marching Band Rehearsal from 4:00pm-7:00pm
Saturday- NO Competition.
IMPORTANT- Students that are planning to take SAT or ACT Tests- please be sure to check the Band Competition Schedule before signing up for these tests. There are dates AFTER Marching Season that will not conflict. IF this is unavoidable for a Senior student- you must check with Mr. Peters as the date gets closer to determine how you will still participate in the competition.
Fundraisers Information:
World’s Finest Chocolate: We are selling World’s Finest Chocolate Candy Bars. We have a limited number of boxes available to sell. Each box is $60 (60 bars @ $1 each) and each box will earn $19 toward student Fair Share. Procedure- send in $60 per box that you would like to sell in cash or checks made payable to SJCCA Band. Then the chocolate you sell will reimburse yourself for what you already paid. You can send in money again if you would like to get more boxes. The SJCCA Band is not responsible for lost or misplaced or stolen chocolate/ melted chocolate/ lost or stolen or misplaced $$.
