Auxiliary Committee- This Chair Person serves as link between the band boosters and the Auxiliary Units of the band (Color Guard, Majorettes, and Winter Guard) and their parents. This committee also works to coordinate and support auxiliary activities throughout the entire school year (not just Fall or Winter Seasons).
Communications and Publicity Committee- the Chair Person would take minutes for all meetings. Will distribute band information via website, email, Cut-Time, the Band App, and Facebook/ Social Media to keep all members up to date with events and information. Updates the Band Calendar as well.
Chaperones and Volunteers Committee- chaperones and volunteers are needed at nearly every event we participate in. This Chair Person will assist Mr. Peters and Mrs. McPeake in getting the necessary number of chaperones or volunteers for each event. This person will work closely with several other committees and committee chairs to assist with volunteers as needed. The Chair Person would also be responsible for inputting new students/ families information into CutTime.
Concert Committee- This Chair Person coordinates volunteers to distribute programs, monitor doors, and help backstage. Coordinates refreshments for all band concerts. Decorates as needed for Fall and Holiday Concerts.
Concessions Committee- Concessions is the biggest yearly fundraiser that benefits the entire band program. This Chair Person needs exceptional organizational and managerial abilities. This job requires a large committee of volunteers to be successful. Some group tasks include- recruiting volunteers, managing an online volunteer sign up, ordering, purchasing and stocking food and supplies, training new volunteers, tracking inventory, accounting, publicizing, publishing signs, tracking volunteer hours and staffing the Visitor concession stand for each regular home game and potential playoff games.
Fundraising Committee- coordinates, plans, and recommends fundraisers as well as getting volunteers to assist with fundraisers. This Chair Person will work closely with our Fund Raising Partner- Florida Fundraisers. Will also assist with record keeping of amounts to be credited to Student Accounts for fundraisers.
Grant Writing and Sponsorships Committee- Works with the community to solicit sponsorships. Maintains sponsorship records. Fulfills sponsorship benefits. Coordinates Sign Board additions and removal of sponsorships. This Chair Person will Coordinate the purchasing of new Sign Board Sponsorships as needed as well as Band Trailer Sponsorship Decal purchasing. Works with Band Staff to obtain any grants that we are eligible for as well as seeks out Grant Funding Opportunities.
Hospitality Committee- This Chair Person will be responsible for ensuring each event that students need to be fed will have a meal donated in some capacity. Will coordinate getting food for students at various events, helps the Special Event Committee to plan the band banquet- including decorations.
Jazz Committee- This Chair Person serves as link between the band boosters and the students in Jazz Band and their parents. This committee also works to coordinate and support jazz band activities.
Logistics Committee- includes Equipment, Props, and Pit- this Committee will oversee the repair and maintenance of equipment (including the Band Trailer and storage sheds), assist with the design, maintenance, and transportation of needed props, assists with the maintenance, upkeep, and transportation of the pit instruments/ equipment. The Chair Person will coordinate all of the above and Assists student Equipment Managers and Loading Crew with loading and unloading of all instruments/ equipment when traveling.
PTO/ SAC Liaison (not really a committee)- this person will attend SAHS PTO and SAC Committee meetings to keep the band apprised of necessary school information or funding opportunities. This person may from time to time report to the PTO and/ or SAC the activities of the SJCCA Band Program.
Special Events Committee- This Chair Person would be responsible for coordinating all major Special Events such as the Band Banquet, Middle School Band Night, and Senior Recognition (including Senior Banners, Senior Gifts, and Senior Night.)
Spirit Wear Committee- Organizes, inventories, and sells band spirit wear items at all home football games. The Chair Person will keep an accurate record of all sales and coordinate staffing of the Spirit Wear Tent at football games.
